STREET LIFE

Martin Potter

Poetry

Madrid Summer Night

As if baked bread aroma

Rises off the street’s crust,

Stone and water, you crossing

The Gran Vía’s broad bow

Basking in night’s cooled heat,

Effervescent thronging yet.
