Body
The house
of an object.
Its husk
or shell.
The dwelling,
the residence,
demarcation
lines.
The bottom
of forest’s
floor and
tops of
trees.
An enclosure
or a box,
a cell,
a vessel.
And then:
the bright
open
windows
where
the light
of life
escapes.
That quick
spark of something
the threshold
point
that keeps
us one
and whole
a shelter
from where
we’ll
go.
